Independence Day Dunkel Weizen

Ahhhhhh yes, summertime in Nebraska.  Humidity, heat and pivot irrigation.  My family was fortunate enough to be able to spend the Fourth of July floating on rafts with my extended family in a lake with a house on an island ... in a valley ... in Nebraska.  Just try to wrap your head around that.

The location is Ginger Cove which just so happens to boast having Nebraska's longest genuine covered bridge built in 1972 over the Skinny River.  These people take this claim to fame very seriously - I think I've heard my Uncle tell me this peculiar neighborhood factoid every year I came to visit since I was a little kid.

Summertime, defined

This is what summertime is all about: watching my sister and my daughter play with a cheap inflatable beach ball, barefoot in the grass, in the backyard at my parents house on a hot summer afternoon in July.
