Pedicures and Porter

I finally got a few hours to be child-free and have some adult time with a good friend who is also a new mom.  So I went to get a pedicure and ended up at the neighborhood bar drinking beer with pretty toenails.  Who knew the neighborhood hole in the wall would have Odell's on tap for $3.50?!?!

I was able to kick back and enjoy one of my favorite dark beers, the Cutthroat Porter, from Odell Brewing Company in Fort Collins, Colorado.  Ok fine, so I had 2.

Now that I know, I might have to go back on a Wednesday night (Bike Night) so that I can have another one for $3.  Just need to find some leather pants and a bandana...

Farmhouse Ale

We cracked a Saison Rue, a Saison/Belgian-Style/ Farmhouse Ale (8.5% ABV), from The Bruery in Placentia, California.

Whit couldn't get past the smell and pretty much hated it because of the smell. Scott enjoyed it.

Limited Edition: The Stoic

The Stoic. A limited edition (brewed once - August 2011) quad from Deschutes Brewery in Bend, Oregon. Brewed with pomegranate with 16.5% being aged in oak wine barrels and 16.5% being aged in oak rye whiskey barrels.

Starts off a bit fruity, but very subtly.  Sours a little as it warms.  Absolutely delish. But at a whopping 11% ABV, it definitely sneaks up on you.

Radiant Summer Ale

Radiant Summer Ale is an American Pale Ale (6% ABV) from Ninkasi Brewing Company in Eugene, Oregon.  Why does Oregon make such awesome beers?  Probably because the weather is always crappy.

A Happy Halloween indeed

Cheers to the New Belgium Brewing Company...you guys really nailed it with this one.  I dare say that the Hoptober Golden Ale is one of the better (best? yet to be seen) seasonal fall beers on the market.

Just another lazy football Sunday

The weather is finally nice (low 90's) so we can finally sit outside on Sundays and lounge by the pool and watch football on our awesome outdoor TV.  After the Cardinals blew the game (again), we decided to roll with an old standby...
