Friday Night Tramp Stamp

Unlike most, this Tramp Stamp was done in good taste.  You'll not find this beer hanging out at Manny's in Puerto Penasco on spring break.

This IPA was brewed by the Mercury Brew Co out of Ipswich as part of its Clown Shoes series of brews.  The Belgian styled IPA pours up with a light copper color and slight opacity yielding healthy head.  The scent of this Stamp is decisively hoppy with just a hint of sweetness and the first taste is abruptly bitter but with a clean finish.  Subsequent tastes mellow a bit as the hop receptors are saturated.  At 7.0% ABV this is probably not a good choice for a session beer unless, well, you're trying to forget that girl you met on spring break.  Cheers!

Cheers to fall

We sat outside and drank this beer by the pool.  I actually had to go inside and get a long sleeve shirt.  Cheers to fall and two thumbs up for the Calabaza Blanca, an Artisan White Ale brewed by Jolly Pumpkin Artisan Ales in Dexter, Michigan.

Old friends reconnect

Thanks to Facebook, I think that we're all in touch with people we would have lost touch with long ago.  And not even people we wanted to lose touch with.  People who you just lose touch with.

This beer is compliments of an old friend of mine from my early days in Arizona who now lives in Austin, Texas. There was a group of us back then that were thicker than thieves and generally drunker than skunks.  We had a lot of good times over the years.  Over time we grew up, some of us got married and some of us started families, and eventually, we were all separated by distance.

All we needed was a Tuesday night to open this treat: Jasperilla Old Ale from Independence Brewing Company in Austin, Texas.
